Boy is it the 22nd again already? That means it's been exactly 5 months since our little project named dossier made its' way across the ocean to Ethiopia!
A check at the wait list shows us at #42 for a boy and #52 for a girl. I'm not sure how we jumped down a boy spot and up a girl, since there haven't been girl referrals for months. I'm guessing other families ahead of us changed their requests.
Ethiopia has been very quiet the last few months. Courts are closed but obviously there are far more issues that are making the process snail speed. There are many families at the top of the wait list that weren't prepared to still be waiting and are heart broken as a result. Please be praying for those families and for the authorities in Ethiopia. Let's get those sweet babies into families!!!!!

"It's a Girl"
When I was in middle school (ish) I read an article about girls/ women in India. I was so heart broken by the way women are still treated and the fact that they kill their little girls both for the 2 children/ family law and for because girls are expensive. They aren't as good workers as boys and the family knows they will have to pay a dowry. I remember the article saying that many parents feed their baby girl bamboo shoots to kill them. My stomach is still sick at the thought of it! I knew from that day forward that I would eventually adopt internationally. I figured I would go to one of these areas and adopt a little girl. God has lead us in a slightly different direction for this child, at least. My heart still beats for these girls/ women, however, and luckily I'm not alone! There is a documentary coming out profiling this very issue (as well as China) Go here and watch the trailor (prepare to be both sickened and saddened)
